Terms of service

What you are agreeing to when you use VetACrew, in plain language. Where a section needs counsel’s text, the page says so instead of guessing.

01 What VetACrew provides

VetACrew searches official public records about a contractor’s license and returns them as a report: what each holder’s record said, when the holder said it applied, and when VetACrew retrieved it. A report is a record of a point in time. It is not advice, a recommendation, a rating, or a decision about anyone.

02 Report credits

Searching is free. One report credit is set aside when you run a report and used when the report finishes. The credit is returned if the report cannot be finished, if you cancel before the records search begins, or once VetACrew records that the displayed estimate was missed. Credits are added to your account by VetACrew and do not expire.

Counsel text pending · refund and billing terms

03 Opening a report

A finished report stays open for three calendar months after you first open it. Opening it again in that window is free. After the window ends, running the report again searches today’s records and uses one credit when it finishes.

04 Your account

You are responsible for the sign-in details on your account. Reports are shown only to the account that requested them.

Counsel text pending · acceptable use, termination

05 Using a report about a person

Where a report is used to decide whether to hire or contract with someone, the law may require you to give notices to that person before and after the decision. VetACrew does not send those notices for you in this version.

Counsel text pending · permissible purpose certification, adverse-action obligations (issue #98)

06 Limits

Counsel text pending · warranties, liability, governing law

07 Changes to these terms

The version and effective date at the top of this page change when the terms do. Earlier versions remain available on request.
