What a VetACrew report is and is not
For anyone who reads a VetACrew report, and for any contractor a report is about.
01 What a VetACrew report is
A VetACrew report is public-record evidence about one contractor license at one point in time. Each record on it comes from a named holder, with the date the holder said it applied and the time VetACrew retrieved it.
02 What a report is not
A report does not say whether a contractor is good, safe, trustworthy, or a risk. It carries no score and no recommendation. Where a record could not be found or a source did not answer, the report says so and says which source; it does not treat that as a fact about the contractor.
03 The word beside each record
Every record carries one of six words: confirmed, ambiguous, stale, not found, unavailable, unsupported. Each describes how the record was retrieved, not the contractor. “Confirmed” means the holder’s record was found and matched; “stale” means it was older than VetACrew’s freshness window; “unavailable” means the source did not answer.
04 Where records come from
The state licensing board (license, classifications, bond, workers’ compensation, personnel named on the license), city and county permit offices (permits issued), and the state business registry (registration status). California only in this version.
05 Your rights as a subject
If you are the contractor a report is about, you may ask what VetACrew holds and dispute any record. Write to support@vetacrew.com. Disputes are reviewed and answered; a corrected record is added as a new version and the original report is not rewritten.
