Sources
State licensing board · California
License status and classifications, bonds, insurance filings, people named on the license, and formal actions. A filing describes what the board holds; it does not establish coverage beyond that record.
VetACrew checks for changed roster files weekly. The licensing board’s publication schedule is not established; each search shows the roster’s records-as-of date.
Current license-detail fields are treated as current through 24 hours after retrieval. Historical and personnel fields are treated as current through 30 days after retrieval. These windows describe VetACrew’s use of the record, not when the board next updates it.
City and county permit offices · Los Angeles
The office covered today is the City of Los Angeles permit office. Its records contribute issued permits and recorded inspections within the period searched.
Each report states the office, search period, source dates, and retrieval time. A permit outside the offices or period covered is outside this search; ask the office where the work took place.
State business registry · California
Filing records for corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships represented in the registry files VetACrew holds. The report shows the filing dates and when those records were retrieved.
VetACrew holds weekly filing changes, not a complete registry. A business missing from those files cannot be described as unregistered. Sole proprietors and fictitious business names are outside this registry search.
What public records cannot establish
General liability insurance
Public licensing records do not establish general liability coverage for most licensees.
Ask the contractor for a certificate of insurance and call the agent named on it to confirm the policy is active.
References and photographs of prior work
Public records do not include references or photographs of a contractor’s prior work.
Ask the contractor for references and photographs, then contact the references directly.
Written-contract compliance
Public records do not show whether your written contract meets California’s home-improvement contract rules.
Confirm your written contract states a schedule of payments and work.
